About Us

As three senior social work students, we created Pathways to Home because we saw a critical gap between people experiencing homelessness and the services meant to help them. Throughout our education and fieldwork, we witnessed how hard it can be for individuals to access resources—especially when they're navigating trauma, systemic barriers, and instability.

We were motivated by the belief that everyone deserves not only shelter but dignity, connection, and opportunity. Pathways to Home was born out of a desire to create something practical, compassionate, and empowering—a space where people can find real help, feel seen, and start again.

This project reflects our passion for social justice, our commitment to community, and our belief in people’s ability to thrive when they’re supported—not just served.

What makes Pathways to Home different?

Pathways to Home stands out because we’re not just another service provider—we’re a student-led, community-rooted initiative built on empathy, innovation, and accessibility. Here’s what sets us apart:

  • Holistic Approach – We address the full spectrum of needs: housing, food, mental health, legal aid, and employment—all in one place.
  • User-Friendly Tools – Our interactive directory, maps, and downloadable schedules make finding help easier and faster.
  • Community Collaboration – We partner with local organizations and volunteers to keep our services relevant and responsive.
  • Real Voices, Real Stories – We center lived experience through testimonials, success stories, and peer-led guidance.
  • Driven by Passion – As senior social work students, we bring fresh ideas, compassion, and a deep commitment to social change.

We’re not just filling gaps—we’re reimagining how support can look, feel, and function for those who need it most.

Goals for the Future of Pathways to Home

  1. Expand Our Reach – We aim to grow our services to more communities, ensuring that Pathways to Home can provide support to those in need across the region and, eventually, nationwide.
  2. Increase Collaboration with Local Agencies – Strengthening partnerships with more service providers, policymakers, and volunteers will allow us to create a more robust support network for individuals experiencing homelessness.
  3. Launch New Programs – We hope to introduce new initiatives like job training workshops, mental health support groups, and housing advocacy programs to address specific needs within our community.
  4. Raise Awareness & Advocate for Policy Change – We will continue to raise awareness about homelessness through education and advocacy, pushing for changes that make access to housing, healthcare, and employment more equitable for everyone.
  5. Develop Sustainable Funding Models – Securing diverse funding sources, including grants, donations, and partnerships, will ensure that we can maintain and grow our services in the long term.
  6. Increase Client Success Rates – By refining our services, increasing follow-up support, and tracking outcomes, we aim to increase the number of people successfully transitioning out of homelessness and into stable housing.

Through these goals, Pathways to Home will continue to be a source of hope, empowerment, and real change for individuals experiencing homelessness.
